Mission Fire Company is a combination volunteer/career
staffed fire company that provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical
services to the approximately 10,000 residents that live within Bordentown
Township's 9.3 square miles.
Fire Prevention 2008
October was fire prevention month, which
kept the members of the fire company busy traveling to local schools to
educate children about fire safety. The end of the month was marked by an
open house during which local residents were invited to tour the firehouse,
view displays and demonstrations, and practice fire prevention. To see

Annual Golf Outing
The members of Mission Fire Company would
like to thank all of the golfers who took part in the annual golf outing in
October. After a day of golf, the participants came back to the firehouse
for a steak dinner and awards ceremony. We had an excellent turn out and a good time was had by all.

Monthly Training: Foam Operations
On August 18th, the fire
company members trained on foam operations. Topics discussed in the lecture
included types of foam, their uses, application rates, equipment, and foam
trailer procedures. The training then moved outside where the firefighters
practiced setting up the foam trailer and deploying foam hand lines.
Foam Trailer 321, which carries 330 gallons of foam concentrate and a 1000
gal/min nozzle, is part of Burlington County's Foam Task Force A, which may
be sent to fight flammable liquids fires anywhere in the county.
